HKU Journalism has changed my life for the better. It has given me not only the skills and connections to advance both professionally and academically, but it has also most importantly given me the confidence to flourish both locally in Hong Kong and internationally in the United States. The strong foundation that HKU Journalism has laid, equipped me with the strength and skills to continue succeeding even beyond the walls of Eliot Hall.

BJ 2024, Gigi Tang, Executive Officer, HKSAR Government
One of the greatest strengths of HKU Journalism is its diverse and rich course content, which extends beyond the news industry. My favourite course throughout my studies was Strategic Communication, taught by a senior executive from FleishmanHillard, one of the leading international PR and marketing agencies. For our final project, we were tasked with designing a communication campaign and presenting it to real clients from major firms. Winning the prize and receiving excellent feedback from the clients was one of the happiest moments of my academic life. The wide variety of courses offered by HKU Journalism provides students with well-rounded insights and diverse career possibilities for the future.

HKU Journalism has been a fantastic place to learn and explore. The rich and flexible curriculum allowed me to take diverse courses in journalism, public relations, media production, and more. All professors I’ve met are dedicated teachers who have ample knowledge and experience to share. Outside the classroom, students are encouraged to gain real-world experience from the get-go.
