The session with photojournalist Alex Hofford has been cancelled.

Award-winning photojournalist Alex Hofford will speak at the University of Hong Kong’s Journalism and Media Centre this Thursday, Nov. 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon.  The occasion will be an informal Q&A session with the students of Associate Professor Miklos Sukosd’s “Environmental Communication” class, Room 101, Eliot Hall.

Alex Hofford is a conservation photojournalist who uses Hong Kong as a base to cover conservation stories in Greater China, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Since arriving in Hong Kong in 1998, he has completed hundreds of editorial assignments, including numerous assignments in the Asia-Pacific region for Greenpeace: the problems of the nuclear industry, marine pollution, shark finning, whaling and overfishing. In 2013, he won the National Press Photographers’ Association’ Best of Photojournalism “Award for Excellence” in the Environment Picture Story category. The winning photo gallery, on the subject of overfishing, can be viewed here.

Hofford is the regional representative in Hong Kong for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA). He was born and raised in the U.K., and educated in London and at the JMSC.
