Public seminar: Innovation and copyright reform in the digital age (14 March)

Amid a legislative deadlock over copyright reform in Hong Kong, Professor Ian Hargreaves will share his insights into innovation and intellectual property reform in this public seminar on 14 March.

Professor Hargreaves serves as the Joint-chair of Digital at Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies and Cardiff Business School. In 2011, he published a milestone report, Digital Opportunity: A Review of Intellectual Property and Growth, which was commissioned by the UK government. He suggests that a parody exception is expected to bring cultural and economic benefits to the UK. The recommendations of the review have been adopted in new copyright rules since 2014.
