This course will teach you how to write press releases, public notices and other published material that will get your message across.
In Hong Kong, hundreds if not thousands of press releases and public notices are churned out every day by universities, private organizations, political parties, the Hong Kong government and others. A huge proportion of these fail to convey the intended messages to the authors’ desired audiences: they are badly written, badly organized, confusing, and not written so as to interest their target audience.
Barry Kalb, author of the acclaimed book “You CAN Write Better English,” will demonstrate how to put the lessons of the book into action in order to effectively communicate with the audience you intend to reach. He will demonstrate how to identify an audience, how to select which facts to include, and how to structure a published message to achieve maximum effect.
