Sept 17 – 19: Eileen Chang Exhibition

A public exhibition, Eileen Chang Uncovered, will be open from Friday 17 September to Sunday 19 Setpember at Galerie Klee, 99 Caine Road, Shop J, Central, Hong Kong.

Guided tours of the exhibition will be given by Dr Roland Soong, the executor of Eileen Chang’s estate.

The exhibition will showcase original manuscripts of Chang’s work, including the handwritten manuscript of her recent Chinese and English publications: The Book of Change, The Fall of the Pagoda, Private Sayings of Eileen Chang, Strange Country, and an unpublished English short story, Hong Kong Wife. Also on display are the correspondence, photos and personal works of Chang’s close friends, Stephen and Mae Soong.

This September marks the 90th birthday and 15th anniversary of Chang’s death.

Eileen Chang Uncovered is co-hosted by the Project for Public Culture of the Journalism and Media Studies Centre, HKU and Galerie Klee.

All are welcome, admission is free and no registration required.

Time : Friday 3pm ~ 6:45pm, Saturday and Sunday 2pm ~ 6:45pm
Guided tours: 6pm on Friday, 2pm & 5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tours are in Cantonese other than the Sunday 2pm tour which is in English.
