Journalists, newsroom managers and innovators are invited to attend a series of workshops on the latest developments in video journalism this Friday, 4 December.
The workshops are part of Hong Kong’s first Editors Lab hackday event, organised jointly by the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) and the Global Editors Network (GEN), with the support of Google. The programme is implemented in partnership with the Associated Press, The Society of Publishers in Asia, and the School of Journalism and Communication of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The workshops, part of the two-day Editors Lab, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Highlights of the workshops include:
- Welcome remarks, ‘Tell me a story: Content Delivery in the Digital Age,’ by Ying Chan, founding director of the JMSC, HKU
- Welcome remarks by GEN, and GEN Workshop, ‘Introducing the GEN Editors Lab Programme and the best prototypes developed across countries,’ by Evangeline de Bourgoing, Programme Director, GEN
- Google Workshop: ‘Innovating Video News Content & Growing Your Online Audience’, by Dorian Stone, YouTube Space Team
- AP Video Hub Workshop, by Aritz Parra, Senior Producer at AP
- Storyful Workshop: ‘The role of User Generated Content (UGC) video in today’s journalism, Storyful model and content verification,’ by Qian Xu, Storyful
The workshops will be held at T6, 1/F, Meng Wah Complex, HKU, and admission is free.
