Grant Fellowship Scheme Now Open for PhD Candidates

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme is now open to students seeking funding to study a full-time PhD at the JMSC.

 

Established in 2009 by the Research Grants Council, the Fellowship Scheme provides a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 and a conference and research-based travel allowance of HK$10,000 per year for each successful applicant for three years.

The Scheme allocates about 135 PhD Fellowships each year across several academic institutions in Hong Kong, including the University of Hong Kong.

Shortlisted applications will be reviewed by a panel of experts across relevant academic areas. The selection is based on academic performance, research ability and potential, communication skills and leadership abilities.

In order to apply for a grant from the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme to cover 2012/13, candidates need to apply to this as well. Applications are open from September 1, 2011. The deadline is December, 1 2011 Details on the application procedure are available here.
