Feb 9-April 6: Environmental Film Nights at the JMSC

The JMSC cordially invites members of the university community to attend weekly screenings of environmentally themed films.

The films include:

  • An Inconvenient Truth (2006)
  • Earth (2007)
  • March of the Penguins (2005)
  • Avatar (2009)
  • Princess Monoke (1997)
  • The Cove (2009)
  • The Host (2006)

Earth will show on Wednesday, February 16 at 6 pm in Room 142 of the Main Building, The University of Hong Kong.

Students enrolled in CCGL9012 Media, Politics and the Environment are required to watch the films as part of their coursework for this new Common Core Curriculum course (http://jmsc.hku.hk/blogs/ccgl9012/223/).

Others are welcome to join us. Seats will be available on a first-come basis. Screening attendance is limited to 50.

Screenings start at 6 pm in classroom 142 of the Main Building.

Dr Miklos Sukosd of the Journalism and Media Studies Centre teaches the course Media, Politics and the Environment. Dr Sukosd and course TA Doug Meigs will host a discussion to follow each movie.
