Paul Cheung, the Global Interactive Editor for the Associated Press (AP)will deliver a talk about the latest trends in interactive media and digital journalism at the JMSC on Wednesday, November 28.

He will discuss digital career opportunities for today’s journalists and share his experiences managing a global team of visual journalists who produce multimedia and information graphics for all formats, including print, online and mobile.

His team, including JMSC alumnus Nathan Griffiths (MJ, 2011), produced the AP’s interactive maps for the U.S. presidential election that was held earlier this month.

Prior to joining the AP, Cheung was The Miami Herald’s Deputy Multimedia Presentation Editor, managing the redesign of the MiamiHerald.com website in 2009, and a Senior Graphics Editor at The Wall Street Journal.

Cheung is an adjunct faculty member at Columbia Journalism School and incoming national President of the Asian-American Journalists Association. He is on Twitter at @pcheung630 and is a founding member of Our Chinatown, a hyperlocal news blog for New York City’s Chinatown community.
