Founded in 1999, the JMSC has nurtured and empowered countless media professionals, scholars and journalists, playing a pivotal role in shaping the journalism and media landscape in Hong Kong and beyond.

JMSC lecturer and award-winning filmmaker Uli Gaulke’s latest documentary, "Century of Women", will premiere at more than 70 theaters in 50 cities across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on March 7, the eve of International Women’s day.

Celebrate HKU Alumni Day by joining us on March 16 for a JMSC career talk session. Our outstanding alumni, Kane Wu (MJ 2009), and Robin Pang (BJ 2008), will be sharing their experiences and insights on career prospects for recent graduates.

JMSC launches first journalism master’s degree in Documentary Filmmaking Specialisation in Asia. Join us for an AskMeAnything (AMA) session with Oscar award-winning documentarian Ruby Yang and other professional filmmakers to learn more about this intensive one-year programme. Admission starts pending Senate approval.
