JMSC gave me a happy and meaningful experience, where I met professional teachers and like-minded classmates, acquired valuable knowledge and made lifelong friends. I learnt practical silks in various storytelling methods and produced works which I may be proud of through my life time. China-related courses also deepened my understanding of contemporary China, preparing me a better mind to tell stories of this complex country. The MJ programme has trained me to be a versatile and competent journalist, I will always miss the time there.

HKU Journalism pushes you directly into the deep end in order to shape its students into the best journalists they can be. In the span of a year, we were taught all the skills we need to thrive as a journalist, whether that be to write, report, film or interview. Despite joined the program with no prior background in journalism, I now work as a reporter full-time and feel confident in my abilities as a journalist.
