AI, Emerging Technologies and Innovative Journalism

Emerging technologies like AI and virtual realities have been revolutionising the media ecosystem and affecting many aspects of the content we consume every day, from breaking news to investigative stories.

To help us understand how AI and other emerging technologies shape future content, the JMSC is hosting a series of conversations with international leading experts, kicking off with Gina Chua, a longtime pioneer in media innovation.

Gina has embraced emerging technologies in her multiple roles that span decades in different leading media organisations, including the South China Morning Post, the Wall Street Journal, Reuters and, most recently, Semafor, a new global news startup.

Speaker: Gina Chua, executive editor at Semafor (joining virtually)
Moderator: Yolanda Ma, lecturer at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre
Date and time: Monday, Sept. 16 (8:30 – 9:30pm)
