Strategies for health and sustainability

Organic Faming insists on the pursuit of health and sustainability. The following part gives you an introduction of three main strategies to achieve that aim.

  • Sustainable development--Farmers would utilize natural resources effectively so as to maintain the sustainability of ecosystem and renewal of resources.

Example-

Grass pieces--Laying discarded grass pieces on the fields help to keep the soil humid. In addition, grass pieces will turn into the organic fertilizer which can improve the soil quality so as to make the plants grow.

Ash--Burning the plant residue can produce a type of organic fertilizer Ash which can promote the seed germination and rootage.

  • Self-sufficient system--Farmers would make full use of available materials to yield energy for their farm production.

Example-

Peanut cake--Farmers would grow peanuts in the arable land once a while. On one hand, the peanuts can provide raw materials for their home-made organic fertilizer. On the other hand, this practice can improve the planting structure of farm crops so as to help the soil with balanced nutrients.

  • Hand-made facilities--Farmers would make agriculture tools by using natural materials and discarded materials so as to minimize waste.

Example-

Hand-made fruit fly trapping bottles--Hand-made trapping bottles are consisting of accessible materials such as discard plastic bottles. They are very good for luring fruit flies into a trap and assuring the healthy growth of melons and fruits.
