JMSC cohosts french journalism workshop with Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau

On 3 November, the JMSC co-hosted "Journalisme à la Française" with the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau @franceinhk to celebrate French journalism and the value of studying journalism and media in France.

Honorary lecturer and AFP standards and ethics editor Eric Wishart, Veteran journalist and founder of the HK Economic Times Perry Mak, foreign correspondent Florence de Changy, and freelance journalist and lecturer Eric Sautedé led the first panel, sharing what the "French touch" of journalism is.

HKUST Professor Celine Song, AFP journalist Germain Moyon, France TV Grand Journalist Anne Claire Poignard, and JMSC BJ student Christina Meng discussed their experiences studying and practising journalism in France. JMSC alumnus Vicky Kung (BJ 2012) moderated the session.

When asked for advice for prospective students, Kung shared, "You have to know how to ask questions." "Know the values of the questions you want answered."
