Applications for the 2020-2021 Master of Journalism (MJ) programme is now open. We will be holding an Information Session for prospective students on campus at The University of Hong Kong.

Matt Walsh, Director of the MJ Programme, will give an introductory presentation covering the programme’s structure, courses, and entry requirements. MJ hopefuls will also be given a tour of our facilities to see the equipment available for students to use during the course of their studies, including the JMSC’s broadcast studio and production facility.

Our MJ programme takes in around 70 students a year from around the world and from different professional backgrounds, and is taught by a faculty of experienced journalists and media scholars. Many JMSC students are working journalists, with other coming from other professions and have taken the programme to embark on new careers in journalism. Graduates have been hired by the world’s leading media organisations, including BBC, Bloomberg, CNN, and The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

The Centre’s teaching philosophy reflects the needs of both traditional journalism and today’s changing media landscape, preparing students to practise accurate, honest and high-quality journalism on all media platforms.

The application deadline for the 2020-2021 academic year is 31 January 2020. For more details about the MJ programme and how to apply, click here.
