Liu and Wang successfully landed several exclusive interviews during the Forum, including John McCormick, the CEO of RBS Asia Pacific.

“When we write for a professional business magazine, we not only need to report the news fast, we also have we to provide in depth analysis explaining the logic behind the figures, the cause and consequence of policies,” said Wang. “It’s like a race in two directions at the same time, but we made it.”

Han Wei (MJ 2009) lives in Beijing and covers business news for He did an interview with Fidel V. Ramos, former President of Philippines during the event and Wei Jiafu, President and CEO of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO).

“We headed towards the same destination from three cities,” said Han. “It was exciting to see familiar faces at Boao. We helped each other to come up with story ideas as we coped with the forum’s intense meeting agenda. We did notice that we are still benefiting from the writing skills that Gene Mustain taught us.”
