International Student Exchanges The JMSC provides opportunities to learn beyond the classroom by emphasizing social and intellectual interactions and encouraging students to “think global.” Our exchange programme permits students to apply for semester- or year-long exchange programmes at top journalism schools in Europe and North America. Through the separately run HKU Worldwide Undergraduate Student Exchange Programme, students also may apply for exchange opportunities at more than 100 other universities worldwide. Eligibility
- All non-final year BJ students are eligible to apply, with the exception of students who have previously been or are already accepted for an exchange under the HKU Worldwide Undergraduate Student Exchange Programme, or any other student exchange programme organized by other faculties or departments of the university
- Students are allowed to apply for both the JMSC Exchange Programme and the HKU Worldwide Exchange Programme but may accept only one
Applications
- Applications will be accepted between November 28 and 12 noon on December 16, 2022
- Interested parties should submit the application form (available below) for the JMSC Exchange Programme 2023-2024 directly to the JMSC. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted
- Please view the JMSC Exchange Programme Guide and JMSC Exchange Programme Checklist (available below) before completing the application form
- Appropriate candidates will be invited to attend an interview in January 2023
Financial Support
- There are a limited number of scholarships and sponsorship opportunities to provide financial assistance to students. The International Affairs Office (IAO) will assign an appropriate scholarship to students according to your financial needs and academic standing once the application to the host institution becomes successful. - Successful applicants may be invited to attend and/or to give presentations and/or to describe exchange experiences at ceremonies and/or other events
