Neil Gough is an award-winning business journalist and financial communications executive whose track record spans more than 20 years in Asia.
Neil began his career as a journalist in 2001 as a reporter at the Asia edition of Time magazine in Hong Kong, covering general news and business across Greater China. In 2005 he joined the South China Morning Post as a senior business writer, where he covered mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and received 10 awards from the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) and the Hong Kong Newspaper Society.
In 2012-17, he worked as a business correspondent at the New York Times and deputy business editor for Asia at the International Herald Tribune, winning awards from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) and SOPA.
He later worked in the asset management industry at Fidelity International’s regional office in Hong Kong, where he built and managed an award-winning team of investment writers and video and podcast content creators across the Asia-Pacific.
Neil has a bachelor’s degree in English and American studies from the University of Mount Union in the United States. He has certificates from the CFA Institute in climate finance, ESG investing, and investment foundations. He speaks Mandarin.
