Elaine Yu is a journalist based in Hong Kong. She has worked as a financial reporter for The Wall Street Journal, a correspondent with Agence France-Presse and a digital producer at CNN International. Her work has also appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Columbia Journalism Review, The Intercept and other publications. She was part of a team at The Wall Street Journal that won the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Award for Excellence in Business Reporting in 2024. Her work has also earned a 2017 New York Press Club Award for Feature Reporting and a finalist spot for the 2022 Mirror Award for Best In-Depth/Enterprise Reporting. She graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, California.
