MJ 2012, Senior Multimedia Producer at Fidelity, Journalism Lecturer at HKU

The JMSC programme offered extensive networking opportunities that enabled me land my big break. First, I interned at CNN International, and then The Wall Street Journal which turned into a full-time position. These internship postings from the JMSC jump started my career. I covered a wide range of international news such as: Philippines President Duterte’s war on drugs, North Korea’s nuclear missile threats, Islamic State attacks in Indonesia, Occupy Hong Kong, the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines MH370 and Alibaba’s IPO. I shot and interviewed public figures like former Philippines president Benigno Aquino lll, NBA Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O’Neil and social media celebrity Lilly Singh. I even produced my own global consumer technology show.

Taking all the skillsets I’ve learned from CNN and the WSJ, I currently create editorial videos on asset management and investments at Fidelity International. I’m often filming in Chinese factories or interviewing clients in Japan on their thoughts on ESG.

JMSC is such an inclusive programme that years after I graduated, they offer me yet another opportunity to give back to the community by teaching the next generation of Master students on how to produce videos.
