Soros on China: Live Videocast With Q&A Session – Oct 30

The School of Economics and Finance and the JMSC invite you to a live video-telecast: George Soros’s Lecture on The Way Ahead – Comments on China.

George Soros will unveil his latest thinking on economics and politics during a lecture series hosted by the Central European University in Budapest from Oct 26 – 30. Each lecture will be telecast to selected universities, including the London School of Economics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia University, and Bangalore’s Indian Institute of Science.

The University of Hong Kong will telecast the closing lecture on China. Soros will focus on the role that China is likely to play on the world stage. He will outline key global trends and discuss their major economic and political implications.

The audience will be invited to participate in a Q&A session with Soros after the lecture.

About the Speaker:
GEORGE SOROS is chairman of Soros Fund Management LLC and founder of the Open Society Institute. He was born in Budapest in 1930. He survived the Nazi occupation and fled Hungary for England, where he graduated from the London School of Economics. He settled in the United States, where he accumulated a fortune through his investment advisory firm. Soros is the author of 10 books, most recently The Crash of 2008 and What it Means. Soros is the founder and chairman of a network of foundations that promote open societies based on the rule of law, market economies, and transparent and accountable governance.
