Video: Engineering the Tipping Point

Did you know Asia’s first social media laboratory was founded right here in Hong Kong? James She, HKUST professor and director of the university’s NIE Social Media Lab, shows us the “science behind the social” at the NIE Social Media Laboratory located at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology
 (HKUST). He will speak about the feasibility of finding the tipping point of digital media and potentially engineering it to happen, as well as its implication to journalism. The lab focuses on the research and design of next-generation social media systems, networks and applications in emerging cyber-physical societies. In the year 2100, will Facebook be “so last century”? We’ll learn what’s cutting edge here.
