Tripti Lahiri is the Asia editor of Quartz in Hong Kong. The bureau is responsible for all of Quartz’s Asia coverage, except India, and focuses on China’s changing economy and role in the world, social and technological change across Asia, and regional tensions. Before joining Quartz, she reported for The Wall Street Journal in India, covering violence against women, factory safety in Bangladesh, and running The Journal’s (now defunct) India Real Time blog. In 2017, she published her first book, Maid in India, about migration, class, and inequality, told through the lens of housekeepers, nannies, their employers, and the brokers who bring them together.
