Right after the Hall Orientation Camp, Floor Orientation Camp follows. Yet, the word 'camp' in the latter function is quite misleading as it is actually a series of tasks and activities that last for several hours a day, on alternative weekdays within the two weeks after the first day of school. These photos show the most generous and lenient function within those two weeks, simply a 'dinner'. Students relax themselves after tough camps. It is vital to the floor because after these two weeks, floormates are expected to be really close.
In addition, each floor has to
contribute to a floor directory to be posted on each floor so hallmates on
other floors can identify who is on each floor. In taking these pictures, students
are asked to act like any character they prefer. The left one shows a student
acting like a patient awaiting for an operation, the middle one a 'thief' and
the right one just being shot.
Some kind of 'traditions' are showed in the
coming pictures. Yet, each floor has its own 'traditions', while some are
interesting enough, some really do not sound nice. These include, on the upper
right, a man holding a lamppost as in the picture. One has to sing a birthday
song to himself in that pose, acting like a candle on the birthday cake. On the
following pictures, we have the 'pig sharing' event, which is held before exams
as a kind of ceremony, wishing for good luck during exams. Then there are three photos, before and after a drinking
night. The man in while lying on ground and the other on sofa are, obviously
real drunk. Lastly, we have a picture taken during 'jo cha' , which refers to
'morning tea'. Students always go for jo cha at around 3am in the morning,
despite morning lessons tomorrow. (Photos by Leung Ngai) Trackback(0)
