A medical doctor who lives in Tsuen Wan, Joseph said he is running in Tsim Sha Tsui East because of its racial diversity and the fact that it is a shopping paradise. He thinks Chinese candidates can also serve the non-Chinese population well. “I speak better Chinese and English than my opponents,” he said. “And I have many Indian friends.” Having studied in North America and have come back for three years, he said he has been an ethnic minority himself, and would make use of his overseas experience to promote racial harmony in Hong Kong.
