JMSC Students Learn Their Trade in Internships Across the Region

Over the winter break, 40 graduate students from the Journalism and Media Studies Center participated in internships that immersed them in the day-to-day work of practicing journalists. Their experience included writing spot reports, drafting feature stories, and producing television and radio news for a variety of media outlets across the Asia region.

Two Veteran Journalists from Top U.S. News Organizations Join JMSC Faculty

Two seasoned journalists from The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times have joined the Journalism and Media Studies Centre as Adjust Professors. Adam Najberg (WSJ) will be teaching a course on financial journalism, while Brian Zittel (NYT) will teach opinion writing. Both stress the importance of "telling a good story."

Student Diversity

The Master of Journalism (MJ) attracts talented students from all over the world, and is taught by a faculty of experienced journalists and media scholars. We take between 60 and 70 students a year from a variety of countries and professional backgrounds, and in nine months of full time study teach the tools, skills and values that a journalist in the digital age requires. Many of our students have come from other professions and have taken this course an embarked on new careers as journalists.
