			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><a href="http://cmp.hku.hk/">The China Media Project</a></strong> generates original, systematic, and multi-faceted research in the field of Chinese journalism. The project has extensive contacts with mainland Chinese media and works directly with editors, writers and producers to document and understand the transformation underway in China’s media.</p>
<p><a href="http://jmsc.hku.hk/sites/hkmedialaw/"><strong>The Media Law Project</strong></a> is a unique research and training programme for journalists, students, academics, media lawyers and others in the communications industry in Hong Kong, mainland China and the region.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://jmsc.hku.hk/2009/10/the-jmsc-public-health-communication-programme/">The Public Health Communications Programme</a> </strong>was launched in response to the SARS epidemic in 2003. SARS demonstrated the need for journalists as well as health communicators to be adequately trained to report and communicate to the public during health crises.</p>
<p><a href="http://jmsc.hku.hk/2011/04/media-research-seminars/"><strong>JMSC Media Research Seminars</strong></a> &#8211; Recent topics include the environmental impact of media, media coverage of the Japanese earthquake, computational journalism and human rights movements in post-communist east central Europe.</p>

<p><a href="http://jmsc.hku.hk/ppc/"><strong>The Project for Public Culture </strong></a>Founded in August 2007, the multi-disciplinary programme conducts research and studies on the media, humanities and culture, with a special focus on Hong Kong and the region. The <a href="../../ppc/">Project for Public Culture</a> is supported by <a href="http://www.hku.hk/alumni/azalea/">Azalea (1972) Endowment Fund</a> and the <a href="http://www.hku.hk/hkuf/culturefund/en/">HKU Culture and Humanities Fund</a>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><a href="http://jmsc.hku.hk/2010/07/abc-on-campus/">ABC on Campus</a> </strong>&#8211; A 2009-2010 Teaching Development Grant made possible an international project in cooperation with the American Broadcasting  Company’s ABC News.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span style="font-size: small;">Since November 2009, students with strong skills in video journalism have carried out field trips and reported for ABC News; their work  appearing on line and on air in North America. <a href="http://jmsc.hku.hk/2010/07/abc-on-campus/">View the results here.</a></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.vox-asia.com/"><strong>Vox Asia</strong></a> &#8212; Students put skills developed in entry-level on-line courses (JMSC 6091 for MJs and 0007 for BJs) to run a professional news and features service (second semester). In addition to producing multiple-media packages, they are required to compete head-on with professional news organisations and report breaking news live on at least one occasion.</p>
