Oh yeah, I see what you mean. When I wrote my entry, it was early morning (before 9AM) and the topics for the day didn't come in yet. Thus it seemed like the daily trending topics stopped at April 1st (two days ago).

This was the page I saw for the "last day's" trending topics:
http://weibo.com/pub/topmblog?type=re&act=day&t=2012-04-02

For the weekly trending topics, I was confused because they don't include (by manual inspection) posts made in the last 3 days up to the day. Seems consistent with past weekly trending topics pages.

What do you mean by the "shutdown of trending topics"? I wasn't monitoring it the whole time, but Sina's trending topics were definitely available as usual during the comments blackout. Here's an example of one of them, from April 1: http://topic.weibo.com/star/21995?hasori=1&refer=index_hot_new

Try without the square brackets. I think it works, unless there was a temporary bug. :)

Great feature, thanks. I have a question though.

Search with a date-range doesn't respond, so I seem to be doing something wrong. For example, [2012-01-01[00:00]] as start date should work right?

Hi Han-Teng. Thanks, looks interesting. Hmm, I wonder if I can find more about his segmentation method? Let me write you an e-mail.

Hi, this is Han-Teng Liao from Oxford Internet Institute. I have met your supervisor Dr. Fu at DC this year.

I am not sure if the following tool can help. It is a tool developed by a programmer now behind Plurk:

"Loso主要是我替Plurk寫的一套中文斷詞系統，稍後有空我會寫篇文章來介紹這套系統
專案網址: https://github.com/victorlin/loso"

I am not so sure if it is more efficient than Bamboo, though.

If you are interested in analyzing the geographic and linguistic scripts used in Weibo's external links, we can have a chat about it in the near future.
