Installing FireFTP for Firefox

These instructions will show you how the install an add-on to the Firefox web browser. We will install the file transfer protocol add-on called FireFTP but the instructions can be used to see how any of the useful add-ons may be installed.

Step 1: firstly, go to the Tools menu and click on Add-ons

Step 2: a window pops up showing all the add-ons currently installed. I have a number already but you may find this window empty. Click the Get Extensions link in the bottom right corner of the window.

Step 3: you will be transferred to the mozilla.org add-ons page and you can enter the name of the add-on (FireFTP) into the search bar and click Search.

Step 4: on the results page you can see the add-on you require so click the title link to get to the details page.

Step 5: the detail page contains more information and also a green Install Now button. Click this button.

Step 6: the add-on will be downloaded and a window pops up asking you to click a button to Install Now. Upon installation you should restart Firefox.

Step 7: now you will see FireFTP listed on the Tools menu. Now you are ready to use it to upload your files.
