Dear All,

I still received queries on the scope of the second quiz.  As I have told you in the class that there would be two parts, one is multiple choice and the other part is short essay.  The scope for part one is from class 5 to class 8, and for part two, it would be from class 1 to class 8.  You have to answer all 5 multiple choices in part one and for part two, you could choose three to answer out of five.  Good luck.

Dear All,

The coming week is a reading week and no class for Journalism Traditions.  However, I have arranged a media visit for you guys–ATV, Oct 18 Sat 2:30pm-4:00pm.  I have lined up Newsroom, Master Control room, Production Studios.  You will also have a chance to talk to the duty news editor.  ATV’ s address is at Tai Po Industrial Estate.  The newsroom/MC equipped with the latest digital technology and I believed the visit might enhance your understanding of the TV opeation nowadays.  Pls do join us and be there sharp at 2:30pm at the main reception lobby of ATV.  And pls e-mail to me beforehand if you do want to visit.  The deadline for enrolment is on or before Oct 16, Thursday.  Thank you.

Dear All,

I am glad that Michelle pointed out to me that there was one point contradiction between ppt and notes on Ching Pao in second class on “Rising of Newspaper”.  It was a overlook indeed.  Obviously, Ching Pao was NOT allowed to print any military movement.  The ppt was right and the notes was wrong.  I have made the correction in the updated version of Notes #2 in Lecture Notes page.  Pls go there and have a look and thank you Michelle.

Hi Guys,

I have uploaded the fourth ppt into this courseblog.  And starting from this Friday (26 Sept), we have tutorial sessions, one at 9:30am and one at 10:30am.  Pls do attend the tutorial session.  We will try to help you to group into 4-5 people a group and discuss the research topics.  It is essential to kick-off your research work as soon as possible.  Pls don’t hesitate if you do have some ideas on research topics, you could talk to me or William.  For those who have signed up tea time with me next Monday (29 Sept), pls do come at 4:20pm, Senior Common Room, 15/F KK Leung Building

Hi Guys,

The add & drop period closed and we have 23 students enroled.  I think this is a good number.  I plan to do two things: one, I plan to have tea gatherings with you on a group basis every Monday at 4:30pm, starting from Sept 22.  If you have already formed groups to do the group research project, that is good, then we could meet on the group basis.  The first tea gathering will be at 4:30pm, Senior Common Room, 15/F, KK Leung Building. Pls sign in to join me, first come, first serve.  Second thing I would like to do is to arrange media visit for you, so far I have not received any feedback from you.  May be I raised this issue again in the class next Monday.  See you all.

Field trip to Guangzhou during reading week?

hi, guys,

I just notice that some of you do not know how to surf this courseblog and some do not know how to find it.  Let’s touch on this problem in my second class and there is one more thing to discuss, which is: do you want to have a field trip or not?  I plan to visit media in Guangzhou during the reading week.  Do you interest to join?  Pls remind me to discuss this point.
