Grading

Students are expected to participate in class discussion and debate. This includes coming to class prepared to discuss the top news of the week, show examples of online news presentations, and debate weekly required readings that are posted on the class web site as well as readings listed on the course outline.

Keep Up With the News

You must read news extensively in this course. Expect a news quiz in each class. Each day, you should pay attention to the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the South China Morning Post and the International Herald Tribune. Also should also pay close attention to advertising and media coverage in all of these publications especially this semester as several publishers are discussing business models on the Internet. The Economist magazine is also helpful.
