xLecture 10 – April 18

This is the last lecture of the course.  Much of this session will be spent reviewing concepts for the Final Examination which is scheduled for next week.     This is a good time to raise any questions that you may have.

Most students have sent in two film critique exercises.  A third one is due before May 10th.  Much rides on the examination for most students as the quality of the critiques thus far has been very good.

This week we will review the basic concepts of documentary film making and its origins by looking again at  Peter Wintonick’s film: “Cinema verite: defining the moment.”

We will also feature highlights from past lectures and also consider Errol Morris again.  Please see New York Time article mention in the April 5 blog entry.

Although this course is not designed to teach actual FILM MAKING, we will examine in some detail ingredients of the process in what could be the making YOUR documentary film…. Elements for success
