ZHAI Minglei

ZHAI Minglei, formerly a reporter for the Southern Weekend Zhai, later launched Minjian magazine, the first publication in China to focus on civil society building. Minjian was labeled an “illegal” publication and shut down by authorities in 2007. Zhai is currently founder and editor in chief of an online newspaper, 1bao.org.
