Hello, welcome to the JMSC 0101 Blog. Below is the main Blog on which we'll be making class announcements, giving out instructions, reminders, amongst other things. Final Project Part II

Deadline: 5pm, Friday, 18 May 2007. Hard copies, with completed Peer and Self-assessment Sheets , to JMSC.

The Assignment:

Put together a proposal (1,500 – 2,000 words) for a television programme that:

  1. Meets the purpose and values of PSB;
  2. Is of public interest and importance;
  3. Is under-covered by existing programmes.

Here is a real life example to help you get started.

Make sure you include:

  • A synopsis (max. 500 words);
  • A budget.

Also, take a look at RTHK’s Producer’s Guidelines. (this should also be relevant to Thursday’s lecture).

Finally, these might also help: One, Two

Grading: we will be looking for, amongst other things:

Evidence of research on your chosen programme topic, how this affects us socially, environmentally, politically and/or economically;

Explanation of how you’ve fulfilled points 1 – 3 above;

Who is your target audience? Why have you chosen that group? How will you engage them with you chosen topic?
