JMSC grad Michelle Yuan named in Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ list of Asian trailblazers

Master of Journalism alumna Michelle Yuan has been named by Forbes Magazine as one of the 30 ‘top promising young leaders, daring entrepreneurs and game changers’ in Asia’s Media, Marketing and Advertising sector.

Yuan was included in Forbes’s ‘30 Under 30’ list, part of a broader list of 300 individuals in 10 different sectors. She is the founder of Asia Wedding Network, a one-stop online magazine for Asian brides planning their weddings.

The aim of the site, Yuan said, is to make wedding planning fun and simple, offering articles, expert tips, a comprehensive directory, planning tools, and a shopping section, whilst also serving as a social network for brides to inspire each other.

‘Being included in the list is a huge step for the Asia Wedding Network, as we continue to establish ourselves in the wedding industry in Asia,’ she said. ‘The skills I learned while studying for my Master’s degree in media and journalism at the University of Hong Kong help us make sure that our content is always top-notch.’

Michelle graduated from the JMSC with a Master of Journalism in 2014. She is also a graduate of Columbia University and has worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan and written for The Wall Street Journal.
