Sat June 9: Shanghai Lecture Series – Fact-checking Foxconn

Rob Schmitz, Marketplace’s China correspondent in Shanghai, will give a talk titled “Fact-checking Foxconn: The Evolving Labour Story in China” at Hong Kong University’s Shanghai Study Centre on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2pm.

Rob Schmitz joined Marketplace in 2010.

Prior to that, he was the Los Angeles bureau chief for San Francisco television station, KQED’s The California Report. He’s also reported for KPCC (89.3), and for Minnespota Public Radio.

Prior to his radio career, Schmitz lived and worked in China; first as a teacher in the Peace Corps, then as a freelance print and video journalist.

This lecture is part of the JMSC Shanghai Public Lecture Series.
